Spring is here...

Spring arrived early this year...I can tell because my allergies have been really acting up. I woke up Monday morning feeling awful, with a really sore and scratchy throat and achey body. I thought I had caught the cold that my mom has had (since I saw her this past weekend in LA) but the symptoms didn't really seem the same as an illness. It took me a few days before I finally figured it out--allergies! What seemed to be a throat infection was just really bad post-nasal drip...and I'm starting to get all the other accompanying symptoms: itchy eyes, headache, congestion, and even a slight rash on my face.

I guess since we had a shorter and warmer winter, that means spring came earlier too. I used to really like spring--trees and flowers budding, everything starting to turn green again--until I moved to NorCal and discovered that I'm basically allergic to all the foliage out here. I've been hiding indoors these past couple of days, trying to avoid the pollen. It's been really hard to work because I'm tired and coughing a lot. I'm looking forward to the weekend rain, when hopefully all of this allergen stuff will get out of the air...
