I was on my way to campus today, and I noticed an unusual amount of police motorcycles in front of me. Okay, weird. Then after I got into campus, I saw two big buses that said "Santa Clara Sheriff." By now I was getting impatient, because I needed to be at the Department to help set up for an event and these police buses were moving so slowly.

I parked and started walking toward the Oval. On the way, I saw the buses parked and lots of camouflaged-covered men around them, almost like a SWAT team. I also noticed all the barricades and police on the street. It felt like a movie set, like I was walking into an episode of 24. Then I noticed that they had blocked off the entire area of Hoover Tower (on the way to the Oval), and by this time, I was getting really annoyed. I thought, "Okay, people, I don't care who this important person is, but I need to get to my event." I had to take a big detour. I asked around and found out it was President Bush. Figures.

Well, after witnessing firsthand the security detail needed for the president's movements, it really makes me want to watch The Sentinel.
