point reyes

Our second stop was in Point Reyes, which is near lots of trails along the coast and in the forest. This is one of my favorite places to hike and to get away (it's actually only two hours away from the Southbay, so totally do-able for a day trip too). It's so beautiful there. The highlight of this stay was an all-day (9.4 mile roundtrip) hike through the Tule Elk reserve to Tomales Point, which is at the very tip of Tomales Bay. It was actually elk season, so we were able to see tons of elk herds along the side as we hiked.

Here is the pet alpac at our B and B; just like in Napoleon Dynamite!
