this weekend

Felicia is coming!

I'm so excited to have company with me, since Byron will be joining many others at WCC this weekend. (Have a great time, guys! Will pray that it's a spiritually fruitful and blessed time!)

For those who don't know her, Felicia is one of the first friends I made in grad school and one of my favorite study buddies...we study well together, i.e. we actually get work done. I spent several nights at her and Janelle's apartment the summer after our first year studying for quals. We would each read separately in our respective rooms (mine was the living room, where I was sleeping) and gather during lunch or take a quick break with a snack. A great mix of serious work and fun times.

This weekend I look forward to more work time together, watching/renting movies, chatting about anything and everything, and lots of eating (soups, salads, walnut bread--I always take the chance to eat nuts when byron is gone, and of course, sweets)...
