chapter 4
is done!!!
(well, a preliminary draft of it, anyway...will probably have to revise it pretty extensively at some later point *sigh*)
This is what I wanted to write to my adviser when I emailed it:
Dear Professor XXXX,
Here is my fourth chapter. Please don't think I'm stupid and that reading it was a waste of your time.

Here is what I wrote instead:
This chapter is baaadddd. Really bad. I felt so embarrassed sending it, but I needed to be done with it for now. I am so sick of it that I know it won't get any better by me continuing to work on it; I need my advisers' feedback.
So I guess I should be happy and celebrate. This is, after all, the last chapter I have to write. It's all revisions from here on out (but who knows how long that will take, knowing how slowly I write...)

I am relatively pleased with where each individual section is heading, but would really appreciate your feedback on how to make the sections work together and cohere better, and also to tighten the argument overall. I am looking forward to receiving your suggestions.

Congrats on finishing Chapter 4! Sounds like boot camp worked?! :p
bootcamp was awesome, and i'm also continuing it with a group of grad students i met through the first one. it's the *best* thing ever to happen to me--i really, really praise God for providing me with this group of people to work with together. makes the process seem sooo much less lonely and more do-able.
