soups made with love
A big thanks to Summer, who stopped by today (along with Esther) and dropped off two big pots of yummy, nourishing Chinese soup! Check them out below:

Both are filled with really healthy and nutricious ingredients: the first one is a dark chicken soup with gochi (small red herb) that's good for the eyes, huang chi (thin yellow flakes) that's good for the respiratory system, red date that's supposedly very good for women, and fresh ginseng; the second one is a chicken soup filled with bitter melon, pineapple, anchovies, and lots of other good stuff.
These soups totally remind me of the ones my mom or my grandmother would make for me while growing up, all the while telling me that they contain "special" ingredients that would make my skin better or my body stronger. I don't know if these are Chinese wives' tales, but even up to now I believe wholeheartedly in the power and goodness of Chinese nourishing soup. Yes, they may smell somewhat herbal medicinal, but I love them nonetheless and always drink my fill, believing that they will somehow magically make my skin radiant or give me more energy.
Thanks, again, Summer, for your thoughtfulness and care--the soups were delicious! I felt so healthy and nourished afterwards.
