update

Not much to report from here. School starts in about three weeks, which means I start working at the Writing Center and also hopefully TA-ing too. I'm still working on the dissertation; lately I've been trying to write up my conference paper (due at the end of October) and also brainstorming about the overall direction of the thesis. Also still trying to write the chapter-that-is-taking-forever.

I've been dutifully training for the October Big Sur 10K and trying to get back onto the exercise bandwagon, which has resulted in a lot of fatigue and soreness. I don't think my body is used to exercising so regularly yet.

Last night I had my third dream in a row this week that I am being chased by someone and I need to escape. I wake up from these dreams exhausted, feeling like I didn't sleep at all. It may be that I'm anxious about this new year... or perhaps because I've been running more so it's in my mind and hence in my dreams? Not sure, but hopefully they'll stop.
