joyce's birthday weekend

It's raining heavily outside right now, but I'm still thinking of the sunny and fun weekend I spent in L.A. celebrating my sister Joyce's big 30th. We first had a girls' day on Saturday, where we did the typical L.A. thing--eat and shop. :) We went to Urth Cafe in Melrose, a trendy organic cafe/bakery that has the tastiest food:

Afterwards, we headed out to the Grove, a really nice outdoor mall in West L.A., where we stayed for a long time doing the usual girly thing--try on jeans at Nordstroms and Gap, look at shoes, etc. At night, we had a big party at my parents' home. Most of Joyce's closest friends came...it was grand.

On Sunday, we visited NewSong Irvine, where we ran into Clement! It was really nice seeing him.
We ate and shopped some more, hung out at Grace and Bran's, and headed back to cold NorCal. I love spending time with the girls (but missed P in Boston very much--not the same without her). And that was my wonderful weekend...
