bonding time

My mom came up with us on Sunday and stayed these past few days. I just dropped her off at the airport this afternoon and already I miss her. :( It was so nice to have her here. I love just spending time with her and living daily life together, like running errands, shopping for groceries, cooking, shopping, and chatting.

Byron and I ate delicious home-cooked meals every day, including soup (which I never make because I am so lazy). There was also a significant increase of meat in each meal (again, because I am lazy I usually stick to the same boring kinds--chicken breast, ground turkey, and fish filets) :

We mostly stayed at home on Monday and Tuesday, went outlet shopping on Wednesday, and visited the Filoli Center today. It was lovely and beautiful, especially the gardens. It's tulip and camelia season, so we saw tons of those.

I am also obsessed with taking pictures of archways and gates (isn't this a cute picture?)

A delightful day where we marveled at God's creativity and splendor in creating such color and variety of flora and fauna. I can't wait to go back and visit when the rose garden is blooming--anyone want to come?
