Okay, I should be taking a shower and getting ready for dinner and a long night of writing, but I have to blog about this: everyone is having a baby! I just got an email from one of my childhood best friends (from Lancaster, PA) that she's having a baby in July! My other childhood best friend from PA, Ang, just delivered at the end of February...and I'll be visiting baby Miyai tomorrow night. With all of these babies coming out, I'm getting major baby envy...not good, must focus on finishing this dissertation!

Oh Maria... you'll have your own soon enough :-).
Maria, let me warn you! After about more than 2 years of helping my sister take care of Joshua (I am the 2nd person who took care of Joshua the most before I got married...my sister first then me), just beware that the baby will suck up ALL your time, FOREVER!!! Granted that having a baby is really nice, but you have to be ready for this HUGE responsibilities... the lack of sleep at night (babies wake up every 3 hours for feeding...and this will go on for the first few months), the diaper change (Joshua is almost 3 and he is still on diapers!), cooking for the baby (they need a balance meal after a few months...not just gerber food, but also food you cook...the food needs to be grinded with the food processer so the baby can eat it), inconvenience when you go shopping (first few months...you might go to the mall, and the baby starts crying...BREASTFEEDING in the milk...FUN!), physical changes (gain weight, stretch marks), finance (believe me...a big box of diapers at Costco about $30..and they use up about 3 at the minimum a day)...and so forth. Having a baby is all about the baby's time not yours (if you plan to study or exercise, or work...etc, and the baby needs you, you have to drop EVERYTHING...unless you want to hire a babysitter...better... ask your sister to take care of your baby while you go exercise!). The bottom line is, it's a big decision and it's all God's timing. You will have one when you and Byron have a peaceful decision and that God wants to give you one! Call me and I'll encourage you NOT to have it until you and Byron are peaceful about it...but it's not that I dont' want one in the future. :) Enough said!
Oops...I meant "breastfeeding in the mall, not milk...haha."
hi jen, thanks for your detailed comments. don't worry, we're not going to do anything yet...i'm just expressing what has been an on-and-off discussion for both hubby and myself. it's definitely in our thoughts, but of course we're not going to do anything until i'm done with the dissertation and we feel that the timing is right (from God). it's just the desire is starting to come, which is a good sign, i hope. :)
Phew! That's good to hear! I guess you know what my soapbox is. :)
