birthday part 2

This weekend was supposed to be a second round of birthday celebrations: Friday night dinner at Joy's, Saturday day trip to the De Young Museum with Byron, and Sunday dinner with Byron's extended family. Unfortunately, only Friday worked out. Saturday's museum trip got postponed because of a minor "altercation" between hubby and myself (*sigh,* the inevitable and occasional "unfortunate conversations" which result in a change of well-intentioned plans; thus is married life). And as for Sunday, poor hubby sprained his ankle playing his favorite sport. So no dinner with cousins. Thankfully, today's doctor appointment told us that it's just a bad sprain, and will require no cast nor crutches. Praise God!

Friday's dinner celebration more than made up for all the other missed events. Instead of repeating what Joy and Karen posted, I'll try to put up some different pics of the evening:

stilton cheese fondue with lots of side dishes for dipping (even scallops and shrimp!)

mediterranean salad

orange duck

we're all so full after the delicious dinner...

...but not too full to enjoy dessert!

two responses to the famous green tea cupcakes: dreamy delight

or "i'm going to put the whole thing in my mouth!"
