weekend

Fun weekend. Especially nice way to end the week, since the earlier half was very unhappy. Byron and I spent a lovely day in SF on Saturday, hung out with Karen that night, and then celebrated Mike's b-day on Sunday with a semi-surprise party at Kittoe.

I also discovered a new guilty pleasure: High School Musical. Yep, I am one of those millions of viewers who have watched it. I watched the first one at Karen's and the sequel at Kittoe during Mike's party. Even though it's frequently cheesy and silly, it's also wholesome fun. I love watching the singing and dancing. My high school experience was definitely not like this movie's portrayal (often resembling a two-hour Old Navy commercial), but there's something very charming about the way the characters burst into song and dance whenever any trouble or good thing comes along. Now I have the song from the end of the first movie stuck in my head, "We're all in this together," or, drill team routine with singing and guys.

Onto the pictures from Saturday's SF excursion...

appetizer from Dragonfly, our favorite Vietnamese restaurant

coconut chicken clay pot w/ jasmine rice

garlic noodles

our two-person "surrey" that we rode around Golden Gate Park

after biking, we walked for a few more hours, stopping at the Rose Garden...

...and the Conservatory of Flowers, except this self-portrait is blocking it

We pretty much spent the entire afternoon at GG Park. I love that park. I think it's my favorite urban greenery, beating even Central Park in NYC.

I love Golden Gate Park as well...that's pretty much the only place we really go to whenever we go to S.F.... Maybe soon we'll get more ambitious...but the gardens just call to me every time!

Now, however, that food you ate is also calling to me!
