I'll keep this post as more of an update and post another time on more "serious" topics.
Let's see, an update on my sickness: no more nasal infection, thankfully. I think lots of rest and daily rinsing actually helped. I'm scheduled for a CT scan on Tuesday, so hopefully after that my ENT will have a better idea on what are the next steps.
I've also been plugging away at my last chapter. I realized recently that there are only five weeks left before we go to Europe! Yikes. It has set me into high gear, trying to make the most of every single day. I am determined to turn in this chapter before I leave, otherwise I know I won't be able to enjoy our vacation (a four-year wedding anniversary, my 30th birthday, and early Ph.D. celebratory trip all rolled into one). I told myself, I don't care if this is the sorriest thing I have ever written, it will be done by March 21.
Of course, even in the midst of frantic reading and writing, I've made time to relax and take a break, like watch the Suns-Lakers game on Wednesday at Kittoe. Man, was that an exciting game! So close the entire time. The funny thing is, I went home to read about the Lakers in The LA Times, including an article about Pau Gasol, and then that night I dreamt about him! I dreamt that we were all at a pool party in LA (lots of Canaan folks there), and while everyone else (including Byron) was watching Sweeney Todd on some grassy lawn, I met Pau and spoke to him in French (figuring that French and Spanish are close enough for him to understand). I remember distinctly that I pieced together 5 or 6 sentences in French, and he actually responded in French too. Then he started speaking Chinese to me, which was really weird, and I woke up.
Last, but certainly not least, here are some pictures from Mike and Joy's wedding this past weekend! Such a beautiful, lovely wedding. It was especially nice being paired with my hubby the entire day. So nice also to see and spend time with dear old friends from out of town. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of the actual ceremony or banquet, but here are some of the girls getting ready beforehand:
