It's freezing in my home. The thermostat downstairs reads 56 degrees! How did it suddenly get from 80-degree sunshine last week to full-on fall weather this week?!

I have my glucose test in about one month, and I vowed to be really good about resisting sweets these next few weeks because I want to pass. But why is that as soon as I know that I need to resist, I have been filled with an insatiable desire for something sweet? Yesterday I was craving rice krispie treats, today I am tempted to make a batch of brownies. I'm almost desperate enough to go buy a donut right now...

Even though I didn't vote for him, I must say that I was genuinely happy that Obama won. One of my first thoughts was, today we elected an African-American for president, tomorrow it could be a Hispanic or Asian-American candidate! The possibilities are endless. I'm so glad that this historic election really does give hope to so many people, both in our country and around the world. I just pray, pray, pray that things will indeed be different, and that he can truly bring about the change that he promised.
