The highlight of today: finally trying Laduree macarons in the Galerie Lafayette on Friedrichstrasse!

I've mentioned my macacon obsession before, so being able to (finally) try Laduree macarons was something I was very much looking forward to in Berlin. Laduree is one of the oldest bakeries in Paris specializing in these delicate, meringue confections. There are only a few stores around, with most of them in Paris.

The macarons were every bite as good as I had imagined, and in lots of different flavors too! The beautiful store, with its trademark light green color and pretty swirls were completely charming. I think I may stop by again tomorrow...

Maria! The vacation looks wonderful. I have a friend (Ethan) whose goal in life is to make the perfect macaroon. If you come visit me again I'll try to get him to make some. :)
